We know that cities can gather data with internet-of-things (IoT) technologies to manage traffic better and plan future transportation. These devices include speed sensors, acoustic sensors, IP CCTV cameras, bright traffic lights, condition/weather monitoring systems, and digital signage.

TSQ Smart City has a centrally controlled hub for smooth coordination of all activities. This is controlled by Artificial Intelligence or AI. The hub is called the ABCT building. This ABCT building is connected with all the wireless sensors in such a way, when any car disobeys the red light, a signal will be sent to the ABCT building; if there is a fire in any building, a signal will be sent to the ABCT building; if there is any accident somewhere, a signal will be sent to the ABCT building. In case of any kind of accident, the ABCT building will be alerted. What is the meaning of ABCT building? This means the Administrative & Business Center of Times Square building. This is an important building in Times Square, where you will get all your plot related activities solved in one day, in one word, all papers are clear, all processes are clear!
Integrated road network connected each & every plot (Residential & Commercial) of TSQ Smart city. There will be approximately 350 km. metallic road and approximately 1718 acre land will be used for integrated road network. It will be 6 different width of roads; 100 feet wide road will be all around the project boundary, 40 feet wide road in front of 5 & 7.5 katha plots, 60 feet wide road in front of 10 katha residential and commercial plots, 80 feet wide road in front of 20 katha residential and 0.5 acre commercial plots, 100 feet wide road for dividing sector and 150 feet wide road for dividing residential and commercial plots. There will be 5/8 feet wide footpath in both sides of the roads. 8 feet wide footpath will be along the 100 & 150 feet wide roads. It will be automated traffic control and under cctv coverage. It will be monitored from ABCT building. Solar street lights will be placed all along the roads. No rickshaw will be allowed. Electric vehicles will be placed for efficient & sustainable mobility.
The reason why Times Square Smart City is developing high-quality trunk infrastructure is to improve the dig-free system, i.e. avoid digging holes again and again. In one word, prevent from the idea of Man at work, man always at work. The TSQ Smart City is a once-underground management of trunk infrastructure controlled by ICT or “Information Communication Technology”. Sewer lines are going down, gas pipe lines are going down, and all kinds of drainage lines are going down. Even if it rains heavily, there is no chance of the roads getting submerged in water. The world’s number one California, USA Based Architectural firm and city planner company Gensler Designed Technology is consultant of this project.
If you notice, there is no source of clean water in the river around Dhaka! So, the question may be why not? Because the industrial waste of the city is accumulating in the river through various drains and canals. Along with this, toxic chemicals are also being released due to which the river water is becoming toxic and polluting the air and the surrounding environment. The ecosystem of the land property and the entire public life around it is being polluted. Today water, air and land are all getting polluted. So, what is the solution? The solution is ETP, stands for Effluent Treatment Plant. What is this effluent treatment plant? Every city should have a central ETP when chemically contaminated water is released as waste water somewhere in the city. By treating the effluent and then releasing the water into the river, the river will no longer be polluted. State-of-the-art ETP management housed in Times Square. This is the Times Square Smart City vision.
4 types of easy logistics connectivity are essential for a business- friendly environment. The first is Smart Road Connectivity, which has a 6 to 8-lane superfast Purbachal Expressway and a 150-feet wide road within the project; the second is the River Port, which is going to be built on the bank of flowing Shitalaksha river, adjacent to the Times Square Smart City; and the third is the Airport, which is just off the project. Hazrat Shajalal International Airport is located 20 minutes away. Fourth is train communication, in this case Metro rail is happening! With all these modern communication systems, you can easily reach the country’s first planned Smart City from anywhere of the country.
TSQ Smart city will be the most eco-friendly city in the region. All types of Bangladeshi fruit-bearing, flower, timber and medicinal plants/trees will be planted along the 350 km road, parks and reserved land. Residents and their children will have the opportunity to orient themselves with different types of plants and fruits. Insh Allah these fruits will be sold among the residents with minimum cost. Approximately 2 lac saplings will be planted. City will be known as “city in Botanical Garden”
To become an attractive city of natural vistas and sceneries, 100% protection will be ensured for all canals, ponds, natural areas and slopes. Existing canal will be excavated up to approximately 30 km long and 80 feet wide. Along both sides of the canal 1-2 lines of plantation and minimum 20 feet wide road will be constructed. It will be recreation trail along the canal for walker, joggers and cyclist.
Sustainability starts at home. With Waste management (WM), you can be sure your materials are collected safely and on-time – and most importantly – handled the right way for the environment. Total 07 waste dumping points are planned for this project, keeping 28 acres land reserved.
To provide adequate fresh water among the residents, city will have 09 water pump and 01 water treatment plant. Total 33 acres lands are reserved for water facility.
To ensure availability and reliability of power supply total 09 power houses will be built in the TSQ smart city. Each power house will have 06 acres of land. Total 54 acres land is reserved. City is planning to have load shedding free environment.
Healthcare district is the hub of excellence in facilitating healthy living. Healthcare facilities with latest equipment and machinery available under the supervision of specialized tech-staff, to ensure accuracy and timely results. The labs are one of their kinds in context of testing machines, technological advancement and providing ease to patients in treatment and procedure. TSQ Smart city is in process to have Kaiser Permanente and Hoag hospital of USA in this project, keeping 81 acres of land as reserved. More so 07 Neighborhood urgent care centers are planned in the residential sectors for handling emergency patients before shifting to hospitals.
To complement the need of residents of TSQ, it is developed a wide range of sports facilities in sports zone exclusively designed for sports activities. The zone consists of outdoor facilities for cricket, football, basketball, volleyball ground; indoor facilities for bowling, pool, table tennis; long tennis & squash court, swimming pool, amusement park and much more for sports lovers. All around the sports zone there will be jogging track. Total 15.5 acre land will be kept for sports zone.
TSQ Smart city will have longest park & green zone in the country, approximately 5.48 km long with 514.2 acres of land. Park will touch almost all the sectors of the smart city. It will be along the both sides of 150 feet wide road. There will be a tower, which will be similar to Eiffel Tower of France. Tower will be made of wrought-iron with smaller height having area of 59 acres. Area will be developed with Food stall, Children Park, Open field, Garden etc.
TSQ Smart city plans for TSQ Security Force for maintaining public order & safety, enforcing the law, preventing, detecting and investigating criminal activities through relationship building with Bangladesh police for better living of its residents. Whole city will come under CCTV coverage, which will be monitored from 03 stations. Total 12 acres of land are reserved for 03 stations. In addition to these 03 fire stations will be co-located with Security Office with fire fighting vehicles and required numbers of fire fighters (FF) and equipment.
TSQ Smart city is planning for a convalescent home for the residential care of elderly or disabled people. Skilled nursing facilities and long term care facilities will be ensured. Total 03 acres lands are reserved for this.
Total 12 filling stations are planned for TSQ city’s transport/vehicles. Filling stations will be located at the cross-section of the roads to reduce time loss of vehicle operators. Each filling station will be facilitated with octane, petrol, diesel, lpg and electric charger for addressing all types need of different vehicles. More so, all stations will have tunnel car wash facility. Total 36 acres of land is reserved
- Religious Facility. There will be 16 mosques, 07 Eidgah cum fields and 01 graveyard in the TSQ smart city. Each mosque will have approximately 1.5 acre land. Total 24 acres land is reserved for mosques. These mosques will be built on charity basis. But each mosque will have separate and copied design of renowned mosque of Muslim world. Like masjid-e-haram, masjid-e- nawbabi, baitul aksa, masjid-e-ibrahim, masjid-e- kuba etc. There will be only one graveyard of 42 acres. This graveyard will be facilitated with one mosque, 01 washing bay for dead body and parking area. Whole graveyard will be designed with 03 feet wide walk way in between two graves, solar street lights and plantation. To grave any dead body of its resident will be free. But to construct any structure over graveyard will not be allowed. For that one needs to reserve one’s grave in advance or later according to TSQ set price.
- Education Zone: Education zone is a part of TSQ smart city dedicated for educational organizations. This particular area consists of institute that will impart quality education through latest & innovative teaching methodologies. It also comes with supporting programs which will teach students different skills at the vocational center. Knowledge is not limited to age and thus our design symbolizes it too. We are planning to have 03 universities, each will have 10 acres of land and 11 schools/colleges each will have 03 acres of land. Total 63 acres of land are reserved for education zone. This area is also facilitated with metro bus system and is provided with sports facilities and parks to spend your leisure time.
- Playing Fields: Each residential sector will have playing field of 05 acres of land. This can accommodate football, cricket, basketball, volleyball etc. These playing fields can be utilized for eidgah, cultural activities also.
- Neighborhood Urgent Care: Each residential sector will be facilitated with one neighborhood urgent care (NUC). Here only emergency medical care will be provided. Total 7 NUC will be operated besides 02 hospitals.
- Mini Mart: Mini Marts is planned for each sector where residents will get all types of fresh, dry, perishable, non-perishable food items. More so laundry, pharmacy, different types of repair shops etc. also will be there.
- Sector House: Each sector will have 3/4 storied building to accommodate sector office , conference room, gymnasium, mini convention hall & cook house for 200 persons, cafeteria, ATM booths etc.
- Children’s Park: Mini children park for the children of the sector residents.
TSQ management is in process of having world renowned chain hotels and resorts ranging from 5* to 1 * for all class of people in its Smart city. Like as Hilton, Marriot, Hayat, Holiday Inn, Embassy, Ramada Inn, Travelodge etc. Total approximately 85 acres of land is reserved in different sectors of the city.
There will be 03 zones for ready- to – eat foods and beverages offered by vendors in open public spaces with adequate parking facilities for street food lovers. Total 09 acres of land is reserved.
TSQ Smart City has designed to have wholesale fresh and dry food market. Total 18 shops, each will have 0.5 acre of land. This market will ensure enough supply of vegetables, fish, meat, different types of fruits, rice etc. for its residents.
For recreation and amusement of residents’ one social club is planned for this city. Management is in process to have franchise of Beverly Hills club of USA. Total 02 acres of land is earmarked for this.
TSQ Smart city will have helipad, landing area or platform for helicopters, along with helicopter parking facilities in the project with having area of 09 acres of land. These will facilitate its residents to fly or land back in TSQ Smart city to avoid traffic jam or save time. Resident can park his/her own helicopter with advance booking of required area.
TSQ Conventional hall is planned in the city with 40 acres of land. In square feet it will be around 17, 42,400 (Seventeen lac forty two thousand & four hundred) with huge parking area. Which any one can hire for marriage ceremony, fair etc.
